Hyoscine-N-butylbromide
Indications/Uses
GI & urogenital tract spasms. Prevention & treatment of dysmenorrhoea.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 1-2 caplet 4 times daily, childn 6-12 yr 1 caplet 3 times daily.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Porphyria, glaucoma, prostate hypertrophy w/ a tendency to urinary retention, mechanical stenosis of GI, tachycardia, megacolon.
Special Precautions
Gilbert's syndrome. Cardiac disease, ulcerative colitis, paralytic ileus, pyloric stenosis. Avoid alcohol. Renal dysfunction. Pregnancy & lactation. Elderly.
Adverse Reactions
Mouth & skin dryness, constipation, palpitation, flushing, arrhythmia, bradycardia, tachycardia, paradoxical reactions, visual disturbances.
Drug Interactions
Antihistamines, antidepressants, quinidine, disopyramide, alcohol, narcotic analgesics, sedatives/hypnotics, KCl.
