Ketorolac tromethamine
Indications/Uses
Short-term management of moderately severe acute pain following surgical procedures.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult Initially 10 mg via slow & deep IM or IV bolus over <15 sec, then 10-30 mg every 4-6 hr, when required. Max: 90 mg daily for 2 days.
Contraindications
Active peptic ulcer, CV disease, haemorrhagic diathesis, complete or partial syndrome of nasal polyps, angioedema, bronchospams, hypovolaemia, asthma. Moderate & severe renal impairment.
Special Precautions
Impaired hepatic & renal function, fluid retention & oedema, coagulation disorder. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn <16 yr.
Adverse Reactions
GI pain, dyspepsia, nausea, headache, diarrhoea, dizziness, drowsiness, oedema, inj site pain.
Drug Interactions
Warfarin, ACE inhibitors, diuretics, nephrotoxic agents, antiepileptic & psychoactive drugs.
