Indications/Uses
Severe acute or chronic pain eg, headache, toothache, tumors, post-op & -injury; severe pain associated w/ smooth muscle spasms (acute or chronic) eg, muscular spasm or colic affecting GIT, biliary passages, kidneys or lower urinary tract.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Tab 1 tab as a single dose. Max: 4 x 1 tab. Inj 2-5 mL IM/IV as a single dose. Up to 10 mL/day as daily dose. Syr 10-20 mL as a single dose. Max: 4 x 20 mL as daily dose.
Administration
Should be taken with food.
Special Precautions
Incidence of metamizole-induced agranulocytosis w/ an immunoallergic origin lasting for at least 1 wk.
Adverse Reactions
Anaphylactic/anaphylactoid reactions, dyspnea, urticaria, severe angioedema or bronchospasm; cardiac arrhythmias, hypotension & circulatory shock.
Drug Interactions
Cyclosporin & alcohol.
