Indications/Uses

Dosage/Direction for Use
Duodenal ulcer Adult 1-2 tab 3-4 times daily. Min: 4 wk. Zollinger-Ellison syndrome & gastric hyperacidity 1 tab 4 times daily. Max: 2,400 mg daily. Oesophagitis 2 tab 4 times daily for 4-8 wk. Inhibition of gastric acid secretion in childn 20-40 mg/kg/day in divided doses.
Administration
Should be taken with food.
Special Precautions
Gastric malignancy. Renal impairment. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Diarrhoea; dizziness, tiredness; rashes. Infrequent, gynaecomastia; reversible confusional states; impotence (men). Rarely, allergic reactions, arthralgia, myalgia; blood disorders; interstitial nephritis; headache; hepatotoxicity; pancreatitis.
Drug Interactions
Increases blood conc of lignocaine, phenytoin, theophylline, warfarin, some antiarrhythmics, benzodiazepines, β-blockers, vasodilators.
