Observe periodically patients for systemic effects. Not to be used by pregnant or nursing women. Childn <18 yr. Elderly >60 yr. Minoxidil: Systemic effects eg, tachycardia, angina, edema or potentiation of orthostatic hypotension w/ guanethidine. Discontinue administration if systemic side effects occurs. Not to be used in patients w/ history of underlying CAD, cardiac dysrhythmias, CHF or valvular heart disease. Monitor closely patients w/ HTN including those under treatment w/ antihypertensive agents. History or presence of any other CV disease. Finasteride: Percutaneous absorption may suppress serum dihydrotestosterone levels & cause systemic effects. May affect serum PSA levels. Patients w/ abnormal liver function. May cause abnormal external genital of male fetus of a pregnant woman receiving finasteride.
