Montelukast

Indications/Uses

Prophylaxis & chronic treatment of asthma in paed 2-5 yr including prevention of exercise-induced bronchoconstriction.

Dosage/Direction for Use

Childn 2-5 yr Asthma 1 sachet of 4 mg oral granules daily. Prevention of exercise-induced bronchoconstriction 1 sachet of 4 mg oral granules daily 2 hr before exercise.

Administration

Should be taken with food.

Special Precautions

Should not be used to treat acute asthma attacks.

Adverse Reactions

Upper resp infection; diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting.
