Hypoproteinemia eg, malnutrition & trauma or injury (pre- & post-op); acute & chronic renal failure including intradialytic parenteral nutrition (IDPN).
Renal failure w/o dialysis 0.4-0.6 g/kg daily by slow IV infusion.
Renal failure w/ dialysis 0.8-1.2 g/kg daily by slow IV infusion.
Abnormal amino acids metabolism. Hepatic coma or risk of hepatic coma. Hyperammonemia. Untreated severe renal disorder or azotemia.
Check fluid & electrolyte balances & serum urea conc. Administration of amino acid soln to a patient w/ hepatic insufficiency may result to imbalances, hyperammonaemia, stupor & coma. Pregnant women & breastfeeding mother. Jaundice in childn.
Hypersensitivity reaction eg, skin eruption; nausea, vomiting; chest discomfort, palpitation; increased SGPT, SGOT & total bilirubin, BUN; acidosis (large & acute infusion); fever, chills, headache.
