Isoxsuprine HCl
Indications/Uses
Premature labor; peripheral vascular disease eg, arteriosclerosis obliterans & thromboangiitis obliterans.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Pre-term labor 0.2-0.3 mg/min IV increasing up to 0.5 mg/min. Continue infusion for up to 24 hr then followed by 10 mg IM 3 hrly. Circulatory disturbances 20 mg 3-4 times daily or 10 mg IV/IA 3 times daily.
Administration
May be taken with or without food: May be taken w/ meals, milk or antacids to minimise GI discomfort.
Contraindications
Recent arterial hemorrhage, heart disease, severe anemia, premature detachment of placenta. Childn & neonates.
Special Precautions
Elderly.
Adverse Reactions
Hypotension, tachycardia, flushing.
