Indications/Uses
Gastric & duodenal ulcer, moderate to severe reflux esophagitis, pathological hypersecretory conditions eg, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Alternative treatment in patients w/ conditions which oral pantoprazole is not indicated.
Dosage/Direction for Use
IV Moderate to severe duodenal, gastric, reflux esophagitis 40 mg daily. Long-period treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome & other pathological hypersecretory conditions Initially 80 mg, following dose 80 mg/day divided in 2 doses.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity.
Special Precautions
Exclude any probability of malignancy. Liver & renal impairment. Monitor liver enzymes during therapy. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn. Elderly.
Adverse Reactions
Headache, upper abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, flatulence. Rarely, nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, allergic reaction eg, rash & pruritus.
Drug Interactions
Ketoconazole & coumarin.
