Pentoxifylline
Indications/Uses
Peripheral vascular disease (eg, intermittent claudication).
Dosage/Direction for Use
1 caplet 2-3 times daily.
Administration
Should be taken with food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to pentoxifylline or methylxanthines eg, caffeine, theophylline & theobromine. Recent cerebral &/or retinol haemorrhage, acute MI.
Special Precautions
Severe CAD, hypotension. Pregnancy & lactation. Patient <18 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Dyspnea, edema, hypotension, anorexia, cholecystitis, constipation, dry mouth, anxiety, confusion, depression, hypersensitivity reactions.
Drug Interactions
Concomitant antihypertensive therapy. Warfarin.
