Clomiphene citrate
Indications/Uses
Male & female infertility. Stimulation of spermatogenesis in male infertility associated w/ oligospermia. Induction of ovulation in anovulatory infertility in women.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Anovulatory infertility 1 tab daily for 5 days starting on the 5th day of the menstrual cycle or any time in case of amenorrhoea. If ovulation does not occur, further courses of 1 tab twice daily for 5 days may be given. Oligospermia 1 tab daily for 40-90 days.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hepatic insufficiency, ovarian cysts, organic disorders of the pituitary gland, ovary or other reproductive organs, liver disease or history of liver dysfunction, abnormal uterine hemorrhage. Pregnancy.
Special Precautions
Possibility of multiple pregnancy & polycystic ovary diseases. Prolonged use. May impair ability to drive or operate machines.
Adverse Reactions
Dermatologic, CNS, psychiatric, visual, CV, musculoskeletal & GUT disorders. Increased transaminases, hepatitis, neoplasms, fever, tinnitus, weakness, leukocytosis, thyroid disorder & fetal/neonatal anomalies.
