Clopidogrel

Reduce atherothrombotic events in patients w/ history of MI, non-ST segment elevation, acute coronary syndrome (unstable angina or non-Q wave MI) treated by ASA.

Adult & elderly 75 mg as a single dose.

May be taken with or without food.

Severe impaired liver function, active pathological bleeding eg, peptic ulcer or intracranial bleeding. Pregnancy & lactation.

Risk of bleeding due to trauma, surgery or pathological condition; w/ bleeding tendency; lesion especially in GIT & intraocular; acute MI w/ ST elevated, acute ischemic stroke; impaired kidney function, impaired liver function associated w/ diathesis hemorrhage. Pregnancy & lactation.

Purpura, bruising, hematoma, epistaxis, hematuria, intracranial bleeding, GI bleeding, neutropenia, aplastic anemia, thrombocytopenia, headache, dizziness, paresthesia, vertigo, dyspepsia, abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, gastritis, flatulence, constipation, vomiting, gastric & duodenal ulcer, prolonged bleeding time, reduce platelet count, rash, pruritus, leucopenia, neutropenia, eosinophilia, thrombotic, thrombocytopenic purpura, severe thrombocytopenia, granulocytopenia, agranulocytosis, anemia, aplastic anemia/pancytopenia, anaphylactoid reactions, confusion, hallucination, taste disturbances, vasculitis, hypotension, bronchospasm, colitis, pancreatitis, hepatitis, angioedema, dermatitis bullosa, erythematous rash, urticaria, eczema, lichen planus, arthralgia, arthritis, glomerulonephritis, fever, impaired liver function, increase blood creatinine level.

Concomitant use w/ warfarin, glycoprotein IIb/IIIa inhibitor, ASA, heparin, thrombolytic agents, NSAIDs.

Anticoagulants, Antiplatelets & Fibrinolytics (Thrombolytics)

B01AC04 - clopidogrel ; Belongs to the class of platelet aggregation inhibitors excluding heparin. Used in the treatment of thrombosis.
