Pantoprazole
Indications/Uses
Duodenal & gastric ulcer; moderate & severe reflux esophagitis; pathological hypersecretory condition which is related to Zollinger-Ellison syndrome or neoplastic conditions.
Dosage/Direction for Use
IV Duodenal, gastric ulcer, moderate & severe reflux esophagitis 40 mg daily. Long-term management of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome & other pathological hypersecretory conditions Initially 80 mg daily. Administration w/ 80 mg daily should be given in 2 divided doses. Patients w/ kidney dysfunction & geriatric patients Max daily dose should not >40 mg. Serious liver impairment Reduce to 20 mg daily.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity.
Special Precautions
IV administration is recommended only if PO is not appropriate. Not for mild GI complaints eg, nervous dyspepsia. Exclude any possibility of malignancy prior to treatment of gastric ulcer. Perform monitoring of liver enzyme. May affect the ability to drive the vehicle & operate the machinery. Pregnancy, lactation. Childn.
Adverse Reactions
Leucopenia, thrombocytopenia, upper abdominal pain, diarrhoea, constipation, flatulence, nausea or vomiting, dry mouth, thrombophlebitis at inj site, peripheral edema, hepatocellular damage leading to jaundice w/ or w/o liver failure, anaphylactic reactions including anaphylactic shock, increased liver enzymes, increased triglycerides, increased body temp, arthralgia, myalgia, headache, dizziness, blurred vision, mental depression, interstitial nephritis, allergic reactions (skin rash, pruritus), urticaria, angioedema, SJS, erythema multiforme, Lyell-syndrome, photosensitivity.

Coumarin.
