Chlorpheniramine maleate
Indications/Uses
Hay fever, urticaria, bronchial asthma, allergic rhinitis & other allergic reactions.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 1 caplet. Childn 6-12 yr ½ caplet, 2-6 yr ¼ caplet. To be taken 3-4 times daily.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Lower resp tract infection, newborn or premature infant.
Special Precautions
Narrow-angle glaucoma, urinary retention, prostatic hypertrophy, focal lesions of the cerebral cortex, pregnancy. May affect ability to drive or operate machinery.
Adverse Reactions
Sedation, GI disturbances, antimuscarinic effects, hypotension, muscle weakness, tinnitus, euphoria, headache, CNS stimulation, allergic reactions, blood disorders.
Drug Interactions
Alcohol, CNS depressants, anticholinergics, MAOIs.
