Short-term treatment of external or anterior ocular inflammatory disease; blepharitis, conjunctivitis, keratitis, scleritis, episcleritis, iritis, iridocyclitis, uveitis; post-op inflammation.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Instill 1-2 drops 2-4 times daily, may be adjusted according to the patient age & severity of symptoms.
Contraindications
History of hypersensitivity corticosteroids. Corneal erosion or ulcer, viral keratoconjunctivitis; TB, fungal or purulent eye diseases. Acute epithelial herpes simplex keratitis, ocular fungal diseases, vaccinia, varicella & most corneal & conjunctival viral diseases.
Special Precautions
Monitor IOP of ≥10-days usage. Cataract surgery. Viral infections including herpes simplex. Pain or inflammation of ≥48 hr (discontinue). Reevaluate if no improvement after 2-day therapy. Pregnancy. Childn <2 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Elevated IOP w/ possible development of glaucoma & infrequent optic nerve damage, posterior subcapsular cataract formation & delayed wound healing. Corneal herpes, keratomycosis or P. aeruginosa infection. Transient burning & stinging. Corneal thinning & perforation, blurred vision (prolonged use).
