Pregabalin
Indications/Uses
Peripheral & central neuropathic pain in adults. Adjunctive therapy in adults w/ partial seizures, w/ or w/o secondary generalization. Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). Pain reduction in fibromyalgia.
Dosage/Direction for Use
150-600 mg daily in 2 or 3 divided doses.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity.
Special Precautions
Hypersensitivity reactions. Neuropathic pain due to spinal cord injury. Suicidal ideation & behaviour. Diabetic patients & those w/ CHF. Dizziness, somnolence, loss of consciousness, confusion & mental impairment, vision related effects, w/drawal syndrome. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Dizziness, somnolence.
Drug Interactions
Drugs affecting hepatic microsomal enzymes, protein-bound drugs, anticonvulsants, antidiabetic agents, OCs, norethisterone &/or ethinyl estradiol, CNS influencing medicinal products.
