Betamethasone-17-valerate 0.1%, neomycin sulphate 0.5%
Indications/Uses
Relief of inflammatory of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses when complicated w/ secondary infections due to neomycin sensitive-organisms.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Apply on the affected areas 2-3 times daily.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Rosacea, acne vulgaris & perioral dermatitis; primary viral skin infection (eg, herpes simplex), extensive use, pregnancy, elderly, patients w/ renal impairment; primary skin lesions due to fungi, bacteria or yeast; dermatoses in childn <1 yr; otitis externa w/ tympanic membrane perforation.
Special Precautions
For external use only, not for eyes. Irritation or sensitization (discontinue). Avoid extensive or prolonged use especially in infants & childn. Duration of treatment in adolescent & face areas max for 5 days, avoid occlusive dressing. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Burn sensation, itching, irritation, dry skin, folliculitis, hypertrichosis, allergic-like eruption, skin maceration, secondary infections, skin atrophy, striae, miliaria. Ototoxicity, nephrotoxicity (long-term therapy, large dose).
