Nifuroxazide

Indications/Uses

Acute diarrhea, specific & nonspecific colonopathies, diarrhea caused by E. coli & Staph in adult & childn.

Dosage/Direction for Use

Adult 1-2 tsp 3 times daily. Childn & infant >6 mth 1 tsp 3 times daily, <6 mth 1 tsp 2 times daily.

Administration

Should be taken with food.

Contraindications

Hyperthyroidism, iodine intolerance. Impaired kidney or liver function.

Special Precautions

Neurological disorders.

Adverse Reactions

Severe neurotoxicity; abdominal pain, diarrhea; green pigment on tongue, urine & faeces; cerebral disturbances.
