Contents
Per Sachet Macrogol/PEG 4000 118 g, Na sulfate 11.37 g, Na hydrogen carbonate 3.37 g, NaCl 2.93 g, KCl 1.485 g
Indications/Uses
Elimination of intestinal contents prior to large intestine endoscopy & surgery.
Dosage/Direction for Use
1 pack to be dissolved in water to make about 2 L soln. Orally administer 2-4 L of the soln at a rate of 1 L/hr. Discontinue dosing at the time excretion liqd becomes clear.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: If administered on the same day as exam: Do not take breakfast. Take 4 hr before exam. If administered 1 day before exam: Take 1 hr after dinner on the night before the exam.
Contraindications
GIT obstruction, intestinal perforation, toxic megacolon.
Special Precautions
Angina pectoris, MI, renal impairment. Avoid administration in a short period of time & avoid addition of other ingredient or flavour. Patients taking insulin or oral hypoglycemic agents. Elderly.
Adverse Reactions
Vomiting, feeling of enlarged abdomen, retching, feeling cold, nausea, changes in lab findings, abdominal pain, malaise, dizziness, headache, sleep loss. Shock, anaphylactoid symptoms, intestinal perforation, hyponatremia.
Drug Interactions
Disturbs absorption of orally administered drugs.
