Terbutaline sulfate
Indications/Uses
Bronchodilator in bronchial asthma, bronchospasm in chronic bronchitis, emphysema & other lung disease where bronchoconstriction is a complicating factor.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 1-2 caplet 2-3 times daily. Childn 12-15 yr 1 caplet 2-3 times daily; should not be >7.5 mg/day.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Severe liver function impairment, thyrotoxicosis, toxemia gravidarum, immiment abortion.
Special Precautions
HTN, CV disorders, hyperthyroidism, DM, history of seizures; hypokalemia. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn <12 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Restlessness, headache, tremor, palpitation, sweating, nausea, vomiting, tachycardia, muscle spasms, increased liver enzymes, vasculitis, hypersensitivity.
Drug Interactions
β-blockers.
