Prevention of post-op nausea & vomiting Initially 8 mg orally given 1 hr before anesth, followed by 8 mg orally 8 hrly or up to 16 hrly.
Highly emetogenic chemotherapy Initially 8 mg slow IV or 15 min infusion immediately before chemotherapy, followed by 1 mg/hr for up to 24 hr or 2 further doses of 8 mg slow IV or 15 min infusion 4 hr apart. Both are then followed by 8 mg oral 12 hrly for 5 days.
Less emetogenic chemotherapy 8 mg slow IV or 15 min infusion immediately before chemotherapy or 8 mg oral 1-2 hr before chemotherapy, followed by 8-mg tab 12 hrly for up to 5 days.
Radiotherapy-induced nausea & vomiting 8 mg oral 8 hrly 1-2 hr before radiotherapy.
Childn >4 yr 5 mg/m
2 IV for 15 min, immediately hrly for 5 days.
Patient w/ hepatic impairment Not >8 mg/day.
