Indications/Uses
Short-term treatment of duodenal ulcer (no >8 wk).
Dosage/Direction for Use
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take 1 hr before meals & at bedtime.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Antacids may be given ½ an hr before or after sucralfate administration. Renal failure or on dialysis. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn.
Adverse Reactions
Constipation; dry mouth. Diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, GI discomfort, flatulence; pruritus, rash; drowsiness, dizziness; back pain; headache.
Drug Interactions
May reduce absorption & bioavailability of cimetidine, ciprofloxacin, digoxin, ketoconazole, norfloxacin, phenytoin, ranitidine, tetracycline & theophylline.
