Meloxicam
Indications/Uses
Short-term treatment of acute exacerbations of OA. Long-term treatment of RA.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Tab RA 15 mg/day, may be reduced to 7.5 mg/day. OA 7.5 mg/day, may be increased to 15 mg/day. Supp 1 supp daily.
Administration
May be taken with or without food: May be taken w/ meals if GI discomfort occurs.
Contraindications
Sensitivity to aspirin & other NSAIDs, asthma, nasal polyps, angioedema or urticaria.
Special Precautions
History of upper GI disease, GI bleeding, anticoagulant therapy, peptic ulceration.
Adverse Reactions
GI disturbances, anemia, pruritus, skin rash, headache, vertigo.
Drug Interactions
Salicylates, oral anticoagulant, lithium, MTX.
