Diclofenac K
Indications/Uses
Short-term treatment of pain, inflammation & swelling due to trauma or surgery. Adjuvant in severe painful inflammatory infections of the ENT.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 100-150 mg daily in 2-3 divided doses. Childn >14 yr 75-100 mg daily in 2-3 divided doses.
Administration
Should be taken with food: Take immediately after meals.
Contraindications
Gastric or intestinal ulcer. Patients in whom aspirin & other NSAIDs precipitate attacks of asthma, urticaria or acute rhinitis.
Special Precautions
History of GI ulceration, ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, cardiac insufficiency. Patients on diuretic therapy or w/ extracellular vol depletion. Monitor renal & haematologic function during long-term therapy. Hepatic or renal dysfunction. Pregnancy & lactation. Elderly.
Adverse Reactions
Epigastric pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, headache, dizziness, vertigo, skin rash or eruption.
Drug Interactions
Lithium, digoxin, diuretics, MTX, cyclosporin.
