Indications/Uses
Dysfunctional bleeding. Timing of menstruation. PMT. Endometriosis.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Dysfunctional bleeding 1 tab 3 times daily for 10 days. Prophylaxis: 1 tab 2-3 times daily on day 19-26 for the next 3 cycles. Timing of menstruation 1 tab 3 times daily ≤10-14 days, 3 days prior to menstrual expectations. PMT 1 tab 2-3 times daily on day 19-26 of menstruation. Endometriosis 1 tab 2 times daily on the 5th day of cycle, may increase to 2 tab twice daily if bleeding/spotting occurs. If the bleeding stops, can be given again according to the initial dose. Duration: At least 4-6 mth.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
History of herpes gestationis; cholestasis or idiopathic jaundice or pruritus during pregnancy; severe liver dysfunction or Dubin-Johnson & Rotor syndrome; undiagnosed abnormal vag bleeding; amenorrhea due to pituitary gonadotropin; hirsutism. Pregnancy.
Special Precautions
Discontinue therapy if hearing or vision problems occur; thromboembolic or signs of depression occur. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Spotting, amenorrhea, edema, allergies, nausea.
Drug Interactions
Phenytoin, barbiturate, primidone, carbamazepine & rifampicin; griseofulvin; oxcarbazepine & rifabutin. Co-administration w/ progesterone may affect several lab tests result.
