Clidinium Br 2.5 mg, chlordiazepoxide HCl 5 mg
Indications/Uses
Adjunctive treatment of gastric ulcer & treatment of irritable bowel syndrome (irritable & spastic colon, mucous colitis, acute enterocolitis).
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 1-2 tab 3-4 times daily. Elderly Initial dose should not exceed 1 tab twice daily, gradually increased until effective dose is reached.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take before meals or at bedtime.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Glaucoma, prostatic hypertrophy, urinary bladder neck obstruction, acute pulmonary insufficiencies, resp depression. Pregnancy & lactation.
Special Precautions
Concomitant use w/ CNS depressants or alcohol. Do not consume antidiarrheal drugs w/in 1-2 hr after administration. Discontinue therapy if dizziness, drowsiness, blurred vision & constipation occur. Avoid prolonged use. Impaired liver or kidney function. Blood count & LFT is recommended in prolonged use in patients w/ impaired liver function. Patients w/ kidney disorders. May impair ability to drive the vehicle or operate the machinery. Childn. Elderly.
Adverse Reactions
Constipation, skin eruption, edema, irregular menstruation, nausea, extrapyramidal symptoms, reduced or increased libido, dry mouth, blurred vision, dizziness, insomnia, fatigue, blood dyscrasia, dysuria, jaundice.
Drug Interactions
Alcohol, anaesth agents, antihypertensive agents w/ CNS depression effect, other antimuscarinic agents, MAOIs, antacids, antidiarrheal drugs w/ adsorbent properties, ketoconazole.
