Mometasone furoate
Indications/Uses
Relief of inflammatory & pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses eg, psoriasis & atopic dermatitis.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & childn >2 yr Apply thin film to the affected skin areas once daily.
Contraindications
Facial rosacea, acne vulgaris, perioral dermatitis, perianal & genital pruritus, napkin eruptions, bacterial (eg, impetigo), viral (eg, herpes simplex, herpes zoster & chickenpox) & fungal (eg, candida or dermatophyte) infections, varicella, TB, syphilis or post-vaccine reactions.
Special Precautions
Reversible hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis suppression. Treated skin area should not be bandaged. Do not use on the face, underarms or groin. Avoid contact w/ eyes.
Adverse Reactions
Burning, skin atrophy, stinging, irritation, dryness, folliculitis, hypertrichosis, acneiform eruptions, hypopigmentation, perioral dermatitis, secondary infection, striae, miliaria.
