Not indicated for the maintenance treatment of melasma. Avoid sunlight exposure. Use sunscreen w/ ≥SPF30, wear protective covering (eg, umbrella or hat) over the treated areas. Change to non-hormonal forms of birth control. Na metabisulfite content may cause allergic-type reactions including anaphylactic symptoms & life-threatening asthmatic episodes in susceptible people. Prompt discontinuation of therapy if exogenous ochronosis, a gradual blue-black darkening of the skin occur. Patients of skin types V & VI. Avoid exposure to sunlight or UV light. Patients who are consistently exposed to sunlight or skin irritants either through their work environment or habits. Weather extremes eg, heat or cold may be irritating to patients. Apply moisturizer on the face in the morning after washing. Avoid application to the eyes, nose, or angles of the mouth. Discontinue use if local irritation persists or become severe. Allergic contact dermatitis, blistering, crusting, & severe burning or swelling of the skin & irritation of the eyes, nose, & mouth require medical attention. Pregnant women & nursing mothers.
