Loperamide HCl
Indications/Uses
Diarrhea.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Nonspecific acute diarrhoea 2 tab, followed by 1 tab after each unformed stool. Chronic diarrhoea 2-4 tab/day in divided doses. Max: 8 tab daily.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Cases where constipation must be avoided. Acute colitis. Pregnancy & lactation. Infant.
Special Precautions
Discontinue after 48 hr, if improvement is not apparent. Acute colitis. Bacteria or parasitic infection. Hepatic dysfunction. Childn <2 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Abdominal pain, toxic megacolon, dizziness, fatigue, skin rashes.
