Lidocaine 7%, tetracaine 7%
Indications/Uses
Topical local analgesia in adults for superficial dermatology procedure eg, dermal filler inj, pulse dye laser therapy, facial laser resurfacing & laser-assisted tattoo removal.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Superficial dermatological procedures eg, laser-assisted tattoo removal Apply thinly & evenly to skin 60 min prior to the procedure. The dose of Litramed that provides effective local dermal analgesia depends on the duration of the application.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to local anesth of the amide or ester type, PABA.
Special Precautions
Do not use longer than recommended; over larger surface area than those recommended. Patients w/ hypersensitivity to lidocaine & tetracaine. Concomitant use w/ other products containing local anesth agents. Avoid contact w/ eyes & other mucous membranes. Patients w/ severe liver disease or pseudocholinesterase deficiencies. Pregnancy, lactation. Childn. Elderly (≥65 yr).
Adverse Reactions
Erythema, swelling, skin discoloration, edema. Pruritus, rash, dry skin, contact dermatitis, acne, skin irritation. Dizziness, nausea, vomiting, dehydration, fever. Unconsciousness, nervousness, sweating, hyperventilation, hypotension, numbness, tremor.
Drug Interactions
Class I anti-arrhythmics eg, tocainide, mexiletine. Other products containing anesth agents.
