Bisacodyl
Indications/Uses
Constipation. Bowel evacuation pre- or post-op.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & childn >12 yr 2 tab as a single dose. Childn 6-12 yr 1 tab/day before bedtime.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take before bedtime or 30 min before breakfast. Do not take w/in 1 hr of antacids, milk or other dairy products. Swallow whole, do not chew/crush.
Contraindications
Acute abdominal surgery, appendicitis, rectal bleeding, gastroenteritis.
Special Precautions
Avoid concomitant use w/ antacids, soda or milk. Abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting. Intensive or excessive use may cause laxative dependence. 1st trimester of pregnancy, lactation. Childn <4 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Nausea, intestinal cramping, diarrhea.

Antacids.
