Salbutamol sulfate
Indications/Uses
Relief of bronchial asthma, chronic bronchitis, emphysema & other bronchospastic conditions.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Cap Adult 2-4 mg. Childn 6-12 yr 0.1-0.2 mg/kg. To be taken 3-4 times daily. Syr Adult 5-10 mL. Childn 6-12 yr 5 mL, <6 yr 2.5-5 mL. To be taken 2-3 times daily. Inj Adult 0.5-1 mL. Childn 0.2-0.3 mL. To be inj 4 hrly if needed.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take 1 hr before or 2 hr after meals.
Special Precautions
Hyperthyroidism, aneurysm, DM, closed-angle glaucoma.
Adverse Reactions
Tremor, palpitations.
Drug Interactions
Effects antagonized by β-adrenoreceptor blockers.
