Lansoprazole
Indications/Uses
Duodenal & recurrent gastric ulcer, reflux oesophagitis.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Duodenal ulcer, recurrent gastric ulcer 30 mg once daily for 4-8 wk. Reflux oesophagitis 30 mg once daily for 8 wk.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach.
Special Precautions
Hepatic disorders. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn. Elderly.
Adverse Reactions
Diarrhoea, headache, nausea, skin reactions; anorexia, constipation, dizziness, proteinuria, fatigue, dyspepsia, dry mouth, urticaria, pruritus, transient elevation of liver enzymes; arthralgia, peripheral oedema, depression.
Drug Interactions
Drugs metabolised by the liver. OCs, phenytoin, theophylline, warfarin. Bioavailability of lansoprazole affected by antacids & sucralfate.
