Infeksi serius & mengancam jiwa, terutama krn bakteri Gr + & Gr - yg resisten thd antibiotik lain. Infeksi sal napas bwh, sal kemih kelamin, ginekologi, kulit & struktur kulit, intra-abdomen, tulang & sendi, SSP. Bakteremia & septikemia.
Dws & anak > 12 thn 1 g/12 jam. Infeksi berat: 2 g 2 x/hr. Maks: 12 g. Bayi & anak 1 bln - 12 thn (< 50 kg) 50-180 mg/kg BB/hr scr IM/IV dlm 4-6 dosis terbagi. Bayi baru lahir & prematur 1-4 minggu 50 mg/kg BB/hr dlm dosis terbagi, diberikan tiap 8 jam, < 1 minggu 50 mg/kg BB scr IV tiap 12 jam.
Hipersensitif thd sefalosporin.
Sensitif thd penisilin. Disfungsi ginjal berat. Riwayat peny GI, terutama kolitis. Hamil, laktasi.
Reaksi hipersensitif, efek pd GI, superinfeksi, nyeri pd tempat inj, flebitis, leukopenia sementara, eosinofilia, & neutropenia.
Aminoglikosida, diuretik poten & probenesid.
