Indications/Uses
Painful post-traumatic inflammatory states, post-op inflammation & pain, as an adjuvant in severe painful inflammatory infections of the ENT.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult Initially 100-150 mg in 2-3 fractional doses. Milder cases & childn >14 yr 75-100 mg daily.
Administration
Should be taken with food: Take immediately after meals.
Contraindications
Peptic ulcer, known hypersensitivity to other NSAIDs.
Special Precautions
History of gastric disorders, impaired hepatic cardiac or renal function. Porphyria. Elderly, vehicle drivers, machine operators. Patients w/ extracellular vol depletion. In prolonged treatment, periodic monitoring of liver function & blood counts recommended. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Occasionally: GI disorders, headache, dizziness, vertigo, rash. Rarely, peptic ulcer, abnormalities of renal function, GI bleeding, hepatitis. Isolated cases: Erythema multiforme, blood dyscrasias, Lyell's syndrome, SJS.
Drug Interactions
Increases plasma conc of lithium, MTX, digoxin. May reduce effects of diuretics.
