Ketorolac tromethamine

Short-term treatment of mild to severe acute post-op pain.

Adult Initially 10 mg IM/slow IV bolus followed by 10-30 mg 4-6 hrly. Max total daily dose: 90 mg/day. Elderly, impaired kidney function, <50 kg Max total daily dose: 60 mg/day. Duration of therapy: 2 days.

Hypersensitivity to aspirin or other NSAIDs; active peptic ulcer; known or suspected cerebrovascular bleeding; diathesis haemorrhage including coagulation disorders; partial or complete nasal polyps syndrome, angioedema or bronchospasm. Concomitant use w/ oxypentifylline, probenecid, lithium salts; hypovolemia; moderate to severe kidney disorders (CrCl >160 micromol/L); history of asthma, SJS or vesiculobullous rash; post-op patients w/ high-risk of haemorrhage or incomplete haemostasis, patients receiving low dose of heparin (2,500-5,000 U 12 hrly); neuraxial (epidural or intrathecal) administration. Not recommended as prophylaxis therapy for pre- & intra-op. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn <16 yr.

History of GI disease, coagulation disorder or patients receiving drugs affecting hemostatis. Elderly.

Dyspepsia, headache, nausea, diarrhea, constipation, blood coagulation disorders, inj site pain.

Warfarin, ACE inhibitor, diuretics, nephrotoxic drugs, antiepileptics, probenecid, MTX, lithium.

Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs)
