Severe infections caused by susceptible organisms.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 1-6 g daily IV or IM. Childn >2 mth 30-100 mg/kg/day in 2-3 divided doses. Neonate & childn ≤2 mth 25-60 mg/kg/day in 2 divided doses.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to cephalosporins.
Special Precautions
Hypersensitivity to penicillins. Renal impairment.
Adverse Reactions
GI disturbances, CNS effects, phlebitis or thrombophlebitis at IV inj site, pain &/or inflammation after IM inj. Very rarely, hypersensitivity reactions. Transient hematological changes.
