Triamcinolone acetonide
Indications/Uses
Inflammatory & pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Apply 2-3 times daily. Rub in gently.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Skin TB; herpes simplex; varicella; fungal or bacterial skin infection. Facial rosacea, acne vulgaris, perioral dermatitis or napkin eruption.
Special Precautions
Evaluate for evidence of hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis suppression, manifestations of Cushing's syndrome, hyperglycemia, glucosuria. Discontinue if the favorable response does not abruptly occur. Use in psoriasis. Not for ophth use. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn.
Adverse Reactions
Burning, itching, irritation, dryness, folliculitis, hypertrichosis, acneiform eruption, hypopigmentation, perioral dermatitis, skin maceration, secondary infection, skin atrophy, striae, miliaria.
