Diclofenac K
Indications/Uses
Short-term treatment of post-traumatic pain, inflammatory & post-op pain. Adjuvant therapy for severe inflammatory pain due to ENT infection.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult Initially 100-150 mg daily. Childn >14 yr 75-100 mg daily. To be given in 2-3 divided doses
Administration
Should be taken with food: Take immediately after meals.
Contraindications
Gastric ulcer, GI bleeding. Cross-sensitivity w/ aspirin or other NSAIDs.
Special Precautions
Severe cardiac, renal & hepatic insufficiency; GI disturbances or a history of peptic ulcer; bleeding tendency. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn <14 yr. Elderly.
Adverse Reactions
GI disorders, drowsiness, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, acute renal failure, skin reactions, increased liver enzymes. Secondary anemia, body fluid retention, increased BP.
Drug Interactions
Paracetamol, anticoagulant, aspirin, amiloride, spironolactone, triamterene, probenecid, lithium, MTX, cyclosporin.
