Zn sulfate
Indications/Uses
As a complementary oral rehydration soln for body fluid replacement. Prevent dehydration in childn, may be used together w/ oral rehydration soln.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Dispersible tab Childn 6 mth-5 yr 1 dispersible tab daily, Infant 2-6 mth ½ dispersible tab. Syr Childn 6 mth-5 yr 1 tsp daily, Infant 2-6 mth ½ tsp daily. All doses to be taken for 10 consecutive days (although diarrhea had stopped).
Special Precautions
Oral rehydration soln should be given besides Zn supplementation.
Adverse Reactions
Vomiting. Excessive dose of Zn (>150 mg/day) for prolonged period may cause toxicity in adult.

Tetracycline, other Zn-containing prod.
