Per mL Dexamethasone 1 mg, polymyxin B sulfate 6,000 IU, neomycin sulfate 3.5 mg
Indications/Uses
Short-term treatment of steroid responsive eye conditions when prophylactic antibiotic treatment is also required.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Instill 1-2 drops 2-4 times a day.
Contraindications
Fungal, viral or mycobacterial infection of the eye.
Special Precautions
Monitor IOP if use ≥10 days. May mask infection or enhance existing infection in acute purulent condition of the eye. Undiagnosed red eye. Not effective in mustard gas keratitis or Sjogren's keratoconjunctivitis. Pregnancy.
Adverse Reactions
Elevation of IOP w/ possible development of glaucoma, optic nerve damage (infrequent), subcapsular cataract, delayed wound healing, secondary infection, cornea or sclera perforation.
Drug Interactions
Antiviral eye prep, TCAs, anticholinergic, anticholinesterase, organophosphates, adrenergics, sympathomimetics.
