Indications/Uses
Fluid & caloric replacement. Diluent for IV drip drug.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 500 mL slow IV.
Contraindications
Glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome, diabetic coma.
Special Precautions
Slow infusion rate, monitor blood & urine glucose. Discontinue in case thrombosis occurs. Patients on corticosteroids or corticotropin.
Adverse Reactions
Febrile response, infection or tissue necrosis at the inj site, venous thrombosis or phlebitis from extending from the inj site, hypernatremia.
Drug Interactions
Corticosteroids or corticotropin; vit B complex.
