Indications/Uses
Severe keratitis in adults w/ dry eye disease, which has not improved despite treatment w/ tear substitutes.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult Instill 1 drop into the affected eye(s) once daily at bedtime.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Active or suspected ocular or peri-ocular infection.
Special Precautions
Patients w/ history of ocular herpes. Carefully monitor patients w/ severe keratitis. Remove contact lenses prior to instillation at bedtime (may reinsert at wake-up time). Concomitant therapy w/ β-blockers in patients w/ glaucoma. May affect host defenses against infections & malignancies. Co-administration with eye drops containing corticosteroids. May cause eye irritation due to cetalkonium Cl content. Moderate influence on the ability to drive & use machines (may induce temporary blurred vision or other visual disturbances). Not recommended in women of childbearing potential not using effective contraception. Not recommended during pregnancy. Lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Instillation site pain. Eyelid erythema & oedema, increased lacrimation; ocular & conjunctival hyperaemia, blurred vision, eye irritation & pain; instillation site irritation, erythema & lacrimation.
Drug Interactions
May potentiate effects on the immune system w/ eye drops containing corticosteroids.
