Mometasone furoate
Indications/Uses
Inflammatory & pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid responsive dermatoses eg, psoriasis & atopic dermatitis.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Apply a thin film of cream into the affected skin areas once daily.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to mometasone furoate or other corticosteroid.
Special Precautions
Discontinue treatment if irritation or sensitization develops; until the infection is controlled adequately. May increase systemic absorption if extensive BSA are treated or occlusive technique is used. Not for ophth use. Not to be used in pregnant patient in large amounts or for prolonged time. Lactation. Ped patients may demonstrate greater susceptibility to topical corticosteroid-induced hypothalamic-pituitary axis suppression & Cushing's syndrome. Limit use in childn. Chronic therapy may interfere w/ growth & development of childn. Prolonged use in infants & childn. Adrenal suppression may occur in infants & childn.
