Clobetasol propionate
Indications/Uses
Short-course treatment of resistant dermatoses eg, psoriasis, recalcitrant eczema, lichen planus, discoid lupus erythematosus & other condition which do not respond satisfactorily to less active steroids.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Apply once or twice daily.
Contraindications
Cutaneous infections eg, impetigo, tinea corporis & herpes simplex. Acne vulgaris, rosacea. Neonates.
Special Precautions
Pregnancy & lactation. Childn <12 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Burning sensation, itching, atrophic changes of the skin, irritation, dryness, folliculitis, hypertrichosis, acneform eruptions, hypopigmentation, perioral dermatitis, allergic contact dermatitis, skin maceration, secondary infections, striae & miliaria. Excessive use: Adrenal suppression, Cushing's syndrome, hyperglycemia & HTN.
