Fusidic acid
Indications/Uses
Skin infection caused by Staphy, Strep, Propionibacterium acnes, Corynebacterium minutissimum, & other fusidate-sensitive organisms.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Apply to the affected area 3-4 times daily.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Infection caused by organisms known to be resistant to fusidic acid especially Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
Special Precautions
Applying in the eye region may cause irritation. Allergic reactions might occur in patients who are hypersensitive to fusidic acid. Prolonged & frequent use may cause resistance. Pregnant & lactating women.
Adverse Reactions
Transient stinging after application. Sensitivity reaction eg, skin irritation, rash, urticaria.
