Natamycin
Indications/Uses
Fungal blepharitis, conjunctivitis & keratitis caused by organisms susceptible to natamycin including Fusarium solani.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Fungal keratitis Initially 1 drop into conjunctival sac at 1 or 2 hr intervals. After 3-4 days, frequency can be reduced to 1 drop 6-8 times daily, continue for 14-21 days or until clinical resolution is seen. Dose can be reduced gradually at 4-7 days intervals. Fungal blepharitis/conjunctivitis 1 drop 4-6 times daily.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity.
Special Precautions
Do not inject. Keratitis w/o improvement after 7-10 days of treatment. Discontinue if irritation, redness & pain persists. Do not touch the tip of container to avoid contamination. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn.
Adverse Reactions
Conjunctival chemosis & hyperemia.
