Sertraline HCl
Indications/Uses
Symptoms of depression in patients w/ or w/o a history of mania.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Initially 50 mg once daily, may be increased at intervals of at least 1 wk to a max of 200 mg daily if necessary.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Concomitant or w/in 2 wk of MAOI therapy.
Special Precautions
Unstable epilepsy. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery. Hepatic or renal impairment. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Dry mouth, nausea, diarrhea/loose stools, male sexual dysfunction (primarily ejaculatory delay), increased sweating, dyspepsia.
Drug Interactions
Avoid use w/in 2 wk of MAOI. Monitor patient when used w/ lithium, tryptophan, highly protein-bound drugs.
