Indications/Uses
Endocrine disturbances, rheumatic, collagen disease, skin disorder; allergy, acute & chronic allergy related to the eyes & vision; resp disease; hematological disturbances; neoplastic disorder; edematous; GIT disorder; emergency medication; meningitis TB; trichinosis.
Dosage/Direction for Use
IV/IM inj, IV infusion Adult Initially ≥100-500 mg for 30 sec to 10 min. May be repeated at 2, 4 or 6 hr intervals. Childn & infant Individualized dose. Min dose: 25 mg daily. Max: 15 mg/kg.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Systemic fungal infection, administration of live or attenuated vaccines.
Special Precautions
Corticosteroid; patient w/ TB, anaphylactic & bronchospasm, liver disease. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Fluid & electrolytes disorders; musculoskeletal impairment; GI disturbances; dermatological & metabolic disturbances; neurologic disorder; endocrine disturbances; ophth disorders; immune system disorders.
Drug Interactions
Phenobarb, phenytoin, rifampicin, troleandomycin & ketoconazole.
