Per g Desoximethasone 0.5 mg, neomycin sulfate 5 mg
Indications/Uses
To relieve inflammation in corticosteroid-responsive dermatosis w/ secondary infection by neomycin sensitive-organism.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Apply thinly on the infected skin 2-3 times daily.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Viral or fungal infection on the skin, skin TB. Acne, rosacea, perioral dermatitis.
Special Precautions
Occlusive dressing may cause systemic effects. May suppress clinical symptoms of infection. Avoid prolonged & large dose use. Treatment should be discontinued if sensitization or irritation occur. Not for ophth use. Prolonged use in facial area may cause rosacea-like skin eruptions, acute perioral dermatitis. Pregnancy, lactation. May affect growth in babies & childn.
Adverse Reactions
Local reactions: Exacerbation of infections, skin atrophy especially on face & skin fold; leading to skin thinning, depigmentation, vasodilatation, acne, papillary dermatitis. Systemic reactions: Suppression of hypophyseal axis. Osteoporosis, moonface, buffalo hump, hirsutism (long-term therapy). Adrenal suppression & hypercorticism in prolonged & extensive use in childn.
